Organizing Student Committee: XIMAHR – The HR Association of XIM University

This year, a central paradox of modern business was confronted: how to build organizations that are both stable and agile. Our theme, “Stagility: Balancing Workforce Stability with Agile Transformation”,  unpacked by a gathering of renowned thought leaders.

Mr. Magesh Sambasivan, VP – People Organisation, Asia Pacific, Assurant was our Keynote Speaker. His address illuminated the path toward creating resilient yet adaptive organizational cultures.

The discourse continue through two expert-led panels:

1. AI & Automation in HR: Boosting Agility Without Losing the Human Touch
2. Building a Stagile Workforce: Resilient, Yet Adaptive

Guided by the visionary leadership of Dr Andrew Dutta, Dean of the School of HRM, and Dr. Subhra Pattnaik, Associate Professor, School of HRM, this Symposium was delve into critical strategies required to lead a stagile workforce.

  • Described the shift from a VUCA world to a BANI world: Brittle, Anxious, Non-linear, Incomprehensible
  • Shared a powerful anecdote: UPI payments disrupted chocolate sales by eliminating the need for change, an unexpected consequence of tech.
  • Advocated for organizations to become anti-fragile (Nassim Nicholas Taleb): not just surviving chaos but thriving in it.
  • Highlighted AI’s role in personalization and decision support AI enables “workforce of one” experiences.
  • It provides data, but human judgment remains essential.

Concluded with a call to build workplaces where technology empowers not to replace human connection.
